Tourpass

Networking infrastructure for the working musician

Overview

TourPass is a music industry networking platform built for artists, booking agents, and venues who are tired of doing business through DMs and spreadsheets. The concept bridges the gap between discovery and booking — giving musicians a professional presence and giving industry contacts a structured way to connect, verify, and work with artists on the road.

The Problem

The music industry runs on relationships, but there's no professional infrastructure to support them. Artists are pitching themselves through Instagram DMs. Booking agents are maintaining contacts in spreadsheets. Venues have no reliable way to discover and vet touring talent. The tools that exist are either built for streaming (Spotify, Apple Music) or too broad to be useful (LinkedIn). There's nothing purpose-built for the operational side of being a working musician.

The Approach

TourPass approaches this as an identity and workflow problem, not just a discovery problem. The platform gives artists a verified profile — tour history, upcoming dates, genre tags, booking contact — and gives industry contacts a structured way to reach out, track conversations, and manage relationships. Think less social network, more professional directory with built-in communication rails. The design phase is focused on nailing the artist profile experience first, since that's the core unit of value everything else is built around.

More Detail

The concept came out of real friction observed from being embedded in the Tampa music scene and playing in Homesick Highway. The gap between 'talented artist' and 'bookable artist' is almost entirely an infrastructure problem — and no one has built the right tool for it yet. TourPass is being designed as a product concept and portfolio piece, with enough fidelity to demonstrate the full product thinking behind it.
